Not in a Vessel, Just me

A Poem

I wish to be out there on the sea.

Not in a vessel, just me.

I want to swim to the moonlight,

the exact moment it first kisses the water.

I wish to float there.

Just me, surrender.

I want to pretend that my body is the paintbrush.

I wish to trace the light all the way to shore.

Just me, floating, at peace with my emotions not war.

I want to meet the sand as the new day awakes.

Stand tall, in the sunlight, proudly knowing I had let go.

I wish to be out there on the sea.

Not in a vessel, just me.
